Bishop Juniors

I came back to my home town to see what Darren Tait and his coaching staff had started with Bishop Juniors @ King James I Academy.I have to say as a fellow coach and I was VERY impressed by the high standard of coaching and facilities that I saw. It was extremely pleasing to see football being coached the correct way, with Long Term Player Development being a major factor.I highly recommend this team and its coaching to any parent / player in and around the Wear Valley area. The Future of Football in Bishop Auckland is very bright!

Thanks Ian, it was great to have you come along & have the opportunity to chat & share thoughts ideas. This will also blossom into a working relationship which will enable the young players to play against kids from opposite ends of the country starting with our U11 visit to Stotfold in July. Cant wait & thanks again.

The future of football in Bishop Auckland

It was an absolute pleasure to be invited along to see the set up this weekend. After watching the training sessions it was clear there was a very high standard of quality coaching on display and the children were all loving being part of it.Most people know Bishop Auckland has a history of successful football over the years and to see first hand what Darren and his team are doing at King James Academy, for me the future of football in the Bishop Auckland area is looking very positive!

My son was approached by Darren to train with Hartlepool development last year. Darren is a very high quality no nonsense coach. He has vast experience in football and lets the kids he teaches enjoy their game in a way that only HE can. He will not allow anyone to put undeserved pressure on children in his care believing that these are merely here to enjoy the experience, and in time hopefully improve at their own progression. I shall, when time allows be taking my son to Darren's sessions. Good luck Darren.

I think Niall would write a book on Darren. As a coach and Secretary of another football club I would like to thank Darren for the confidence and decision making skills he has instilled in my son. His game has hugely improved thanks to the fun sessions Darren has provided. He also opted for Darren's HUFC Development training over the Sunderland academy sessions. I have at least 7 of my team wanting to train with Darren and would recommend him to anyone.

Finley benefited greatly from the HUFC development sessions, your ability to pull each player aside individually in the middle of an active session & give them positive comments relative to them & not the whole group was testimony to the depth of your understanding.

Darren obviously has a great love for the game and a passion for developing the youth of today. His training sessions are always innovative and fun, and he regularly stretches the boys by playing them in less familiar positions in order that they get the most out of their time on the pitch. I would highly recommend Darren as a coach.
